2011 HASL Scholarship Recipient
Congratulations go out to Tamara Martinez who is this year's recipient of the Hawaii Association of School Librarians Scholarship. Tamara is a second year student in the Library & Information Sc-MLISC program. In the Fall of 2011, she will be doing her practicum at the Waimanalo Elementary and Intermediate School and Public Library, and expects to receive her Master's degree in the Spring of 2012. Besides maintaining an impressive 4.0 grade point average, Tamara fosters her passion for literacy by working as the Family Literacy Program Manager at Hawaii Literacy. Through this program, Tamara provides family literacy and library services to children at two Honolulu public housing sites, Mayor Wright Homes and Kuhio Park Terrace. Congratulations, Tamara, on being this year's scholarship recipient.
